FEMININITY

fem·i·nin·i·ty

/ˌfeməˈninədē/

noun

qualities or attributes regarded as characteristic of women.

You are a woman, don't be afraid to hide it. Do we deserve equal rights? Of course!! But are we the same? Of course NOT! And thank goodness for that!! We are warm, we are soft, we are beautiful and we are POWERFUL! Let's embrace our differences and enjoy all things female!

My FEMININE faves.

Praising people to success.

A paradigm of sparkling charisma and class.

"Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful."

I saved the best for last!

Meet my mother: Mary Kay Independent Senior National Sales Director Emeritus Alicia Lindley Adkins. I better be hearing some W.I.L.D. applause right about now!

This is the woman who instilled so many positive core values into my life. Treat others the way you would like to be treated, be kind, be honest, be brave, be bold, you CAN do it!

Here is an article Mary Kay Corporate shared published about my mom when she retired:

Practice makes perfect was an ethic Independent Senior National Sales Director Emeritus Alicia Lindley-Adkins learned early in life, showing horses. It prepared her for her Mary Kay journey, which was the last place she ever dreamed she’d find her passion. “We’d ride and practice in the arena every day, whether it was raining, cold, blistering hot, or whatever. If you didn’t win the first time, you’d practice more and compete again.”

Alicia is married to Philip Adkins “who was in my Starter Kit,” she claims. “A Mary Kay girlfriend introduced us.” He was a gift to Alicia and her children, after her first husband, Sammy, passed away. “I always believed Mary Kay was the best, but my real passion began when Sammy was ill and I had to step away for almost three years to care for him. I did only re-orders and the people in my unit took care of the rest for me. The same month he died, I picked up a new Mary Kay Career Car because of the work they had done for me to stay in business. They earned the use of that car for me. That’s when I became so passionate about the Mary Kay opportunity for women. No matter what happens, you can always come back to Mary Kay. It was the most stable thing in my life.”

Placing herself in the space of people who were where she wanted to be was key for Alicia. She would drive six hours to go to Independent Elite Executive National Sales Director Emeritus Nan Stroud’s Sales Director meetings. “I listened to the late Independent Senior National Sales Director Emeritus Rena Tarbet to learn scripts. Rena’s courageous lifelong battle with cancer taught me to make lemonade out of lemons. Independent National Sales Director Emeritus Wynne Lou Ferguson taught me that I’d only be successful by getting out in the field. I couldn’t do it from a desk. Mary Kay Ash was the one who really taught me everything, as I got to sit at her feet for years. Every experience God gives, every person He brings, is the perfect preparation for the future that only He can see.”

“What’s next? I am raising my grandnephew and have started a new business flipping houses. Mary Kay taught me I can do anything I set my mind to do. It is never too late, never too hard, never too anything! If you think you can, you can.”

Recently, this brave, strong and amazing woman I get to call mom was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. As you can imagine, this has been a huge blow to my siblings and myself. It is very scary as we have already lost one parent to a battle with cancer. But just like mom was taught to make lemonade out of lemons, I am choosing to do the same thing! First and foremost, I am trusting God to have His hand in this situation, to calm the fears and surround us with peace. Second, I have decided to raise money & awareness for the Mary Kay Ash Foundation, which has donated millions of dollars to cancer research. You can help, too! Prayers are always appreciated. Additionally, I have curated a signature look in which 100% of the profits I make on each sale of this look will be donated (click the banner for more details). Finally, I will be donating 10% of the profits on all of my other sales (including parties) to the foundation for cancer research grants. If you are able to host a party, that would be amazing! By doing this, you help spread the word about my cause. If parties aren't your thing, but you are willing to try the products and possibly shop with me, that is amazing, too! You could also share my website with your friends and family :) You may also choose to donate to the Mary Kay Ash Foundation independently! Anything you would like to do to help this cause is truly appreciated.
